Why did you become a tennis coach?
Have always loved playing tennis and many other sports! This passion lead me to become a PE Teacher at an All Girls’ School, Nursery through to 18 year olds, where tennis plays a key role within our provision.
What do you like the most about being a tennis coach?
It is fun! It is very rewarding seeing girls improve their physical and social skills through tennis. It is also very rewarding developing new ways as a teacher to deliver tennis and support players from entry level through to team tennis.
What is your favourite Grand Slam to watch?
Wimbledon – haven taken 3 school trips to the event and it is the best trip of the year! Being that close to the play is phenomenal. The atmosphere is just brilliant and the TV coverage is superb!
What are you most looking forward to about being involved in She Rallies?
Creating opportunities to empower women and inspire young coaches / aspiring PE teachers so we can all have a positive impact on girls’ tennis and raise the participation levels, in a fun environment!
What is your tennis coaching pet hate?
The wind. Awful!
What one country in the world would you most like to coach tennis in?
Spain, for the heat!
